Resume:
Shortly after midnight this morning, Troopers were called to
Memories Bar in Delmar in reference to a fight in the parking lot.
When officers arrived, they went thru the parking lot and located
the group of about 20 to 30 people appearing to be getting ready to
fight. One particular subject, later identified as Eddy Almonte, was
seen carrying a baseball bat. He swinging the bar, inciting the
other subjects to fight.
Officers approached the ‘slugger’ and found he was extremely
intoxicated, refusing at first to drop the bat. When Almonte finally
complied, Troopers began to handcuff him at which time Almonte’s
girlfriend, Jamie Vari, approached the officers and began yelling at
them. Ms. Vari was ordered to back away and to leave, however, she
refused. Her rant continued and she continued to impede the Troopers
investigation. At this point, Troopers had enough, and Vari was
arrested too.
Eddy Almonte was formally charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon
