Seize Marijuana after Drug Raid at Local Motel

State Police have arrested two persons after they executed a drug
related search warrant at the Econo Lodge on Coastal Hwy in Rehoboth
Beach last evening at approximately 8:15 pm.
Members of the
Sussex County Drug Unit, assisted by troopers from the Special
Operations Response Team (SORT) and Sussex Governor’s Task Force (GTF),
conducted the search warrant in connection with a two-month
undercover investigation into the distribution of marijuana.
The search
warrant was executed in room # 308 and once inside troopers
encountered Katie R. Hynson and John P. O’Connor. Both subjects
were taken into custody and a subsequent search yielded two separate
bags of marijuana. One weighed 458 grams and the other weighed 461
grams.
As a result of
the investigation, John P. O’Connor, 29 of Lewes and Katie
R. Hynson, 23 of Rehoboth were arrested for Possession with
Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping
Controlled Substances, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. O’Connor was incarcerated in the
Sussex Correctional Institute (SCI) in lieu of a $6,000 cash bail.
Hynson was incarcerated at SCI in lieu of a $3,000 secured bail.
