Seriously Injured in Afternoon Crash

Milton
– The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a crash that
has injured two persons. The crash occurred this evening at
approximately 6:30 pm at the intersection of Cave Neck Road (CR 88)
and Hudson Road (CR 258).
Investigators
learned a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix, operated by Susan V. Wilkinson,
53 of Milton, was traveling eastbound on Cave Neck Road approaching
Hudson Road. A 1995 Ford Taurus, operated by Lisa M. Cressman, 39
of Milton, was traveling southbound on Hudson Road approaching Cave
Neck Road.
Ms. Cressman
failed to stop at a visible stop sign on Hudson Road and entered the
path of travel of the Grand Prix on Cave Neck Road. As a result,
the two cars collided in the intersection resulting in the crash.
Both persons were injured and transported to Beebe Hospital by
ambulance. Ms. Wilkinson has sustained serious injuries.
Both persons
were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not a factor. Because of the
crash, the roadway was closed for approximately 45 minutes. The
crash remains under investigation.
