Laurel Woman Arrested in Sexual Assault Cases

– The Delaware State Police have arrested Angela N. Groesbeck,
27 of Laurel for several sexual assault charges after an
investigation into an alleged sexual complaint revealed she had
engaged in illegal sexual acts with three separate juvenile boys.
The
investigation began on March 12, 2009 when the mother of a
15-year-old boy was viewing her son’s My Space account and
discovered some alarming statements on the account. The mother found
a conversation on the site that insinuated her son was sexually
involved with an older woman who utilized a screen name of I LOVE MY
SHAWTY.
The mother
learned from her son that this person was Angela Groesbeck and that
she was a neighbor of the boy’s father who lived at a separate
location in Laurel. Police conducted and interview with the victim
and discovered he knew Groesbeck from visiting his father’s home in
Laurel Village. Additionally, it was discovered that the pair had
sexual relations on February 28, 2009 at Groesbeck’s home. Groesbeck
was subsequently arrested on March 13 and committed to the Delores J
Baylor Woman’s Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
As
investigators continued the investigation, they discovered that
Groesbeck also had sexual relations with two other juveniles. In
this case, detectives learned she engaged in elicit sexual conduct
with two 14-year-old Laurel boys on several occasions between March
21, 2008 and February 28, 2009. All of these occurred at her home on
Ponderosa Avenue.
Because of the
investigation, Groesbeck was charged with five counts of Rape Third
Degree and eight counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact Second Degree.
She remains incarcerated at the Correctional Center in lieu of a
$40,000 secured bond.
