Released

Lewes –
The Delaware State Police are
seeking the public’s help in locating a 41-year-old Millville man
wanted in connection to a Failure to Stop at the Command Incident
and Home Improvement Fraud.
On January 28, 2009 at approximately
9:26 pm, a patrol trooper assigned to Troop 7 in Lewes attempted to
conduct a traffic stop on a Dodge Ram Pick-Up for failing to signal
and a suspended registration infraction. The trooper, who activated
the vehicle’s emergency equipment, realized the vehicle was not
stopping and was able to observe a white male operator as the
vehicle attempted to flee.
As the trooper was investigating and
following the pick-up on Dairy Farm Road, they learned the
registered owner of the vehicle was Roy K. Barker, 41 of
Millville and that he was operating with a suspended driver’s
license and had an active arrest warrant from Troop 4 for home
improvement fraud.
During the course of fleeing the
police, the vehicle struck five mailboxes on Josephs Road damaging
all of them. Shortly afterward, police made the decision to
discontinue the pursuit. It was later determined through photographs
obtained by the trooper that the operator was Barker.
As a result of the incident, DSP has
obtained arrest warrants on Barker for Failing to Stop at the
Command of a Police Officer, 5 counts of Criminal Mischief and 23
related traffic offenses, including driving on a suspended license
and aggressive driving. He is also wanted by Troop 4 for Home
Improvement Fraud and has an outstanding warrant from the Sussex
County Court Superior Court for failing to appear on an arraignment
for a separate home improvement fraud.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call Troop
7 at 302.644.5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.TIP.3333. Tips may also
be forwarded to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by
Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-333 3 or on
