Bridgeville
– The Delaware State Police are investigating an overnight shooting
that left a 30 year old Ellendale woman with two gunshot wounds.
Troopers responded to a shots fired complaint this morning at
approximately 12:40 am at a residence in the 21000 block of
SanFilippo Road, east of Bridgeville.
When troopers
arrived they found the 30 year old victim had suffered 2 gun shot
wounds to her buttocks. The investigation has revealed she was lying
in bed with a male friend watching television when two shots were
fired through a glass bedroom window striking the victim.
The victim and
the male acquaintance immediately got on the floor and called 911.
Medical personnel were summonsed and transported to female to
Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury where she is in
stable condition. It should also be known that the victim is
pregnant and the male was not injured.
Investigating
troopers observed a single set of footprints left in the snow from
the culprit that indicates the suspect parked an unknown vehicle
down the road from the home and walked up to the bedroom window and
committed the crime. These same footprints were tracked back to the
same area where detectives believe a get away vehicle was parked.
This incident remains under
investigation and when additional facts are known, including any
further suspect information, they will be provided. Anyone with
