– A Troop 7 patrol trooper has arrested a 20 year old Rehoboth Beach
man for drug offenses after his attention was drawn to a suspicious
vehicle parked in the rear of the Citizens Bank located on Coastal
Hwy in Lewes.
Last evening at
approximately 10:45 pm, the trooper
observed a white 1989 Lincoln Town car pull into the parking lot of
Furniture and More store and then park in the rear of Citizens Bank.
Another vehicle then pulled up in the area of the Town car when the
trooper observed a subject get out of the white Lincoln going
towards the other car. The trooper was concerned because the area
businesses were closed.
At this point the subject who exited the vehicle observed the
trooper and abruptly returned to the Lincoln. The subjects then
began to leave the parking lot when the trooper stopped them. During
the course of speaking with the operator, Braedon M. Zinser, and
attempting to ascertain what he and the other persons were doing the
trooper received consent to check the vehicle for any illegal
substances or items.
A
consent search located two small baggies containing marijuana under
the drivers side dashboard, along with a blue glass pipe used for
smoking marijuana, an Altoids can filled with small baggies commonly
used for packaging illegal drugs, and another baggie with numerous
other small baggies with marijuana inside them. All items were
secured by the trooper.
Mr. Zinser was taken into custody without incident. The combined
marijuana weighed 2.27 grams. As a result of the arrest, Zinser was
charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana,
Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping Controlled Substances, Possession
of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana. He was released
after posting a $1750.00 secured bail.
