Car Fire Ruled A Homicide

Dover- The Delaware State Police are providing the following updated information regarding the car fire that occurred on Peachtree Run south of Lochmeath Way, Dover.  The Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the manner of death of the victim, 54-year old Nikolaos Lyristis, of Dover, a homicide.

 

The silver 1983 Mercedes Benz was located fully engulfed in flames, which the Camden-Wyoming Fire Department, extinguished.  Lyristis’ body was located inside the vehicle.

Death Investigation

Released- Sunday, January 27, 2008
Dover- The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is requesting anyone with information pertaining to the death investigation that occurred on Peachtree Run, south of Lochmeath Way, Dover to contact Det Mike Maher at 302-739-5939 or the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. 

The investigation is currently on going and further information will be released as it becomes available.

Dover- On Sunday, January 27, 2008 at approximately 12:45 am, Troopers and the Camden-Wyoming Fire Department responded to Peachtree Run, south of Lochmeath Way, for a car fire. 



Initial reports are that a passerby observed the car on fire and called 911.  Upon arrival at the scene fire personnel extinguished the fire.  This investigation is currently underway and has revealed one deceased person who was located inside the vehicle.  At the present time identity and vehicle information has not been confirmed. 



Due to the suspicious manner of death the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is working in conjunction with the Fire Marshall Office and the Medical Examiner.  More information will be released as it becomes available.
