Resume:
Delaware State Police
responded to Sandy Ridge Drive Laurel for a complaint of a teen
threatening her parents with a knife. The investigation revealed
the teen was overheard using her prepaid cellular phone at 3 am in
the morning in her bedroom. The father of the teen knew there were
no minutes left on the 16 year old defendant’s phone and went to
investigate. The father believed the teen had stolen money from her
mother’s purse earlier in the day. The phone was taken away from
the teen and she became angry. The teen sought out at least two
large kitchen knives and threatened bodily injury to her parents.
The parents fled and secured themselves in a bedroom and dialed
911. The teen then took the knives and began to violently attack
the door where her parents fled for refuge.
State
Police arrived and after approximately 10 minutes of negotiating
were able to convince the juvenile to put down the knives. The 16
year old female was arrested for the above listed offenses. |
