Delaware State Police responded to Graves Farm Rd. Milton around
1:30 P.M. on the afternoon of Friday January 2, 2009. State Police
interviewed 4 victims regarding shots being fired in their
direction. State Police learned that Beimers entered a private field
exited his vehicle and set up a make shift target range. Once
Beimers placed the cardboard box a distance away he returned to his
truck and removed a .22 caliber Ruger pistol and opened fire toward
his target. The victims who were also in the field scattered upon
hearing the gun fire and yelled toward Beimers to stop shooting. The
victims contacted Beimers and told him to leave the property. The
victims were able to obtain a tag which help police identify the
defendant.
State Police patrolled the area observed Beimers driving on State
Route 16. After conducting a traffic stop it was determined that
Beimers was the individual involved in the target shooting incident
earlier in the afternoon. State Police located a .22 caliber Ruger
inside Beimers vehicle and also arrested Beimers for suspicion of
driving his Ford Ranger while under the influence of alcohol.
Beimers was arrested and remanded to Sussex Correctional
Institute in lieu of $10,500 secured bond.
