Felton Man Charged with Possession of Child Pornography Released Wednesday November 5, 2008 Felton-Following a month long investigation Delaware State Police have arrested Robert E. Bench-41 of the 100 block of Geldon road, on various child pornography and sexual solicitation charges. State Police Detectives on September 22, 2008 learned from a 14 year old victim that she had been solicited to take inappropriate pictures on several occasions. The offense occurred on September 8, 2008 at Bench’s residence. The female victim was asked by Bench to take pictures of her self with his cellular phone. Bench offered the victim money in exchange for these photos. After further investigation detectives learned Bench solicited and inappropriately fondled three others victims ages twelve, sixteen and seventeen. Troopers confiscated various computer equipment, discs, and cell phones during a search of Bench’s residence. These items were turned over to the Delaware State Police High Tech Crimes Unit for forensic analysis after obtaining a search warrant. The High Tech Crime Unit discovered thirteen images depicting a child engaging in a prohibited sexual act. Bench on today’s date was charged with the following offenses related to this case: 2 Counts Sexual Solicitation of a Child Under 16 5 Counts Unlawful Sexual Contact 1st degree 15 Counts Possession of Child Pornography 1 Count Reckless Endangering Bench was remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $ 167,500.00 cash bail. |
