Released
Wednesday, October 28, 2008
Little Creek
– The Delaware State Police investigated an afternoon crash that
sent one party to the hospital after their car struck a home on Main
Street. Troopers responded to the two-car crash at approximately
12:30 pm today in the 200 block of Main Street, Little Creek.
The
investigation revealed a 2000 Honda Passport, operated by Sherline
Exantus, 28 of Dover, was traveling southbound on Main Street. A
2002 Dodge Neon, operated by Kathleen Goodman, 77 of Dover, was
stopped at a stop sign on Wilson Lane waiting to turn left onto Main
Street.
The Neon pulled
out in front of the Passport causing the crash. The operator of the
Passport attempted an evasive maneuver to avoid the crash and was
still struck by the Neon. As a result of the crash, the Passport
exited the road and struck an unoccupied home in the 200 block of
Main Street.
The operator of
the Passport sustained minor injuries and was taken to Kent General
Hospital for treatment. The operator of the Neon was not injured.
Alcohol is not a factor and both parties were wearing seatbelts.
Ms. Goodman was
cited for Failure to Remain Stopped at a Stop Sign.
