Dover
Man Dies in Fatal Crash

Clayton –
The
Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are
investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 29-year-old
man Dover man.
Troopers responded to the two vehicle crash on Sudlersville Rd west
of Downes Chapel Rd last night at approximately 10:06 pm.
Investigators learned a 2002 Dodge Caravan, operated by Vaughn L.
Harris, 29 of Dover, was westbound on Sudlersville Road traveling
behind a 1996 Buick Roadmaster, operated by Terrance D. Brooks, 29
of Centerville,MD .
For
an unknown reason, the Caravan ran into the rear bumper of the
Roadmaster with its front bumper causing the crash. As a result, the
Caravan traveled off the north edge of the road striking a utility
pole and eventually overturning several times in a field landing on
its roof.
Mr.
Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Brooks was taken to
Kent General Hospital for minor injuries and released. Both subjects
were wearing seatbelts and alcohol use is currently unknown. The
roadway was shut down for approximately 4 hours and has since been
reopened.
The
crash remains under investigation. |
