Four Injured
in Early Morning Crash

Dover
– The Delaware State Police are investigating an early morning crash
that injured four people including one that was ejected. Police
responded to the two-car crash located at Hazlettville Rd and Rose
Valley School Rd this morning at 5:56 am after it was reported two
vehicles had been involved in a serious crash.
Investigators
learned a 2004 Dodge Ram Pick-up, operated by Michael Graham, 22 of
Dover, was traveling westbound on Hazletville Road approaching Rose
Valley School Rd. The pick-up was pulling an unoccupied utility
trailer. A 1994 Saturn 2-door, operated by Estella Perez, 29 of
Marydel, MD was stopped at the stop sign on Rose Valley School Rd
waiting to turn left onto Hazletville Rd. For an unknown reason the
Saturn pulled out in front of the pick-up causing the crash.
As a result of
the crash, a right rear passenger in the Saturn, Aron Garcia, 19 of
Marydel, Md was ejected. He was flown by DSP helicopter to
Christiana Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of
the Saturn, Ms. Perez and another passenger, Florinda Morales, 25 of
Marydel, MD were also flown to Christiana Hospital for non-life
threatening injuries. A final passenger, Oline Barris, 40 from
Marydel, MD was transported to Kent General Hospital for non-life
threatening injuries.
All parties
were wearing seatbelts with the exception of Mr. Garcia. Alcohol was
not a factor and Ms. Perez was charged with Driving without a valid
license and Failure to Yield. Mr. Graham was not injured.
