Couple Charged with Manufacturing Marijuana

Frederica –
Members of the Delaware
State Police Troop 3 Drug Unit, with the assistance of the
Governor’s Task Force, executed a search warrant at a home in the
2500 block of Barrett’s Chapel Road, Frederica yesterday afternoon.
The search warrant resulted from an investigation that began after
information was obtained that Thomas and Linda Houck were
manufacturing marijuana on the property.
During the
search of the residence several marijuana plants were found growing
in the garden outside the home. Troopers also located marijuana in
the residence that appeared to be packaged for distribution. In
addition, eight firearms consisting of shotguns, rifles and pistols
were located inside the home. The total weight of the marijuana was
approximately 19 pounds or 8,680 grams.
As a result of
the investigation, Linda L. Houck, 60 and Thomas L. Houck, 59 both
from Frederica were arrested for Trafficking Marijuana,
Manufacturing Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Deliver
Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a
Felony, Maintaining a Dwelling, Conspiracy 2nd, and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Mr. Houck was
issued a $16,750 secured bond and committed to the James T Vaughn
Correctional Center in Smyrna. Mrs. Houck was given the same bond
and committed to the Delores J Baylor Women’s Correctional Center in
New Castle.
