Felton
– Yesterday at 5:15 pm, members of the Kent County Drug Unit with
the assistance of the Delaware State Police Special Operations
Response Team executed a drug related search warrant in the unit
block of Tyler Drive, Country Acres Mobile Home Park, Felton. This
warrant stemmed as a result of a long term investigation into the
manufacturing and distribution of crack cocaine in which the
individuals arrested were identified as suppliers of crack cocaine
to several open air drug markets in lower Kent County.
Information
gathered by undercover officers led to the raid yesterday that
resulted in the arrest of nine people and 991 grams of crack cocaine
seized. During the execution of the search warrant, the occupants of
the residence were actively manufacturing crack cocaine for
distribution. A search of the residence revealed 221 grams of Crack
Cocaine and 770 grams of a crack cocaine/water mixture (this was a
result of the subjects trying to flush the crack cocaine down a
toilet as the raid was occurring – they were unsuccessful as
troopers caught the subjects in the act) for a total weight of 991
grams of crack cocaine. In addition, 118 grams of marijuana, over
$8800 in U.S. Currency, and drug paraphernalia consisting of a scale
