State Police Shut Down Major Heroin
Ring

Felton
– Yesterday, members of the Delaware
State Police Sussex County Drug Unit, DEA Dover Task Force and
Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit concluded a two –month
undercover investigation involving the distribution of heroin
throughout Kent and Sussex counties.
As a result of this investigation,
Romayne O. Jackson, 38 yrs of age and Lillie M. Lewis,
41 yrs of age, both from Pin Oak Court in Felton, were identified as
major suppliers of heroin in Kent and Sussex counties.
Investigators arrested Jackson and
Lewis yesterday in the Seaford area after they delivered 247
individual bags of Heroin to a purchaser. (Note: the actual location
of the arrest is being withheld to protect the integrity of the
case)
A search warrant was then executed
at their residence in the unit block of Pin Oak court in Felton and
investigators recovered scales that were used to weigh amounts of
the heroin that was to be distributed.
During the two-month period, Jackson
and Lewis delivered 494 individual bags containing 12.26 grams of
heroin with approximate street value of $5000.00. Because of this
investigation:

Romayne Jackson was arrested for
5 counts Delivery of Heroin, 5 counts Maintaining a vehicle for
Keeping Controlled Substances, 2 counts Trafficking Heroin,
Conspiracy 2nd and 5 counts of Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia.

Lillie Lewis was arrested for
Trafficking Heroin, Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping Controlled
Substance, and Conspiracy 2nd.
Mr. Jackson was remanded to the
Sussex County Correctional Center in lieu of bail and Ms. Lewis was
remanded to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute in
lieu of bail.
