Shut Down Illegal Drug Operation in Kent County

Felton –
Yesterday afternoon,
members of the Delaware State Police Troop 3 Drug Unit with the
assistance of the State Police Governor’s Task Force, Troop 3
Criminal Investigative Unit, and the Special Operation Response
Team, executed three search warrants in southwestern Kent County.
These executed
search warrants were the result of a several month undercover drug
operation that involved the selling and distribution of illegal
narcotics. Specifically, three residences were targeted: a home in
the 100 block of Indian Runner Road and homes in the 400 and 1100
block of Beagle Club Road, all just west of Felton.
As a result of
the search warrants, troopers recovered 68.8 grams of crack cocaine,
3.7 grams of marijuana, 8 Oxycodone pills, $7489 U.S. Currency, a
.45 caliber handgun, a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, firearm
ammunition. In addition, a 47-inch LCD television, two All Terrain
Vehicles, a motorcycle, and drug paraphernalia were seized.
The following
subjects were arrested on the following charges:
Carl D. Young, 38 of the 400 block of Beagle Club Rd, Felton
was arrested for Trafficking
Cocaine, Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Maintaining
a Vehicle, Maintaining a Dwelling, Possession of Crack Cocaine, and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia ( 2 counts).

20 of the 100 block of NW 2nd
Street, Milford was arrested for Possession with the Intent
to Deliver Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

John J. Hooks, 23 of the 500 block of Beagle Club Rd, Felton
was arrested for Delivery of Crack Cocaine ( 3 Counts), Possession
with the Intent to Deliver Oxycodone, Possession with the Intent to
Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle, and Possession of drug
Paraphernalia (4 Counts).

All subjects
were incarcerated in the Delaware Correctional Center in Smyrna in
lieu of secured bail. This is an ongoing investigation and
additional arrests are expected. When they are made they will be
provided to the media.
