Identify / Arrest Three Accomplices Also Involved in Wild Quail
Robbery

Kent County-
Detectives from Troop 3,
in Woodside, have made a significant development in the robbery
investigation at Wild Quail which occurred on February 22, 2008.
This morning,
assisted by the Philadelphia Police Department, Delaware State
Troopers executed arrest and search warrants at a residence along
the 5800 block of Arch Street in Philadelphia. Here they arrested
three brothers alleged to have assisted former Trooper
Hyunjin Kim in the aforementioned robbery. The subjects arrested
were identified as follows:
- Addae C.
Powell, 26, of the 5800 block of Arch
Street in Philadelphia.
- Jeffrey N.
Powell, 30, of the 5800 block of Arch Street in Philadelphia.
- Akua N.
Powell, 22, of the 5800 block of Arch Street in Philadelphia.
These three
subjects are being detained as fugitives from Delaware, in
Pennsylvania, and their extradition hearings are pending. Upon their
return to the first state, they will be charged with the following
offenses: eleven (11) counts of Robbery 1st (felony),
Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (felony),
Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony (felony),
Conspiracy 2nd (felony) and two (2) counts of Offensive
Touching (misdemeanor).
Investigators
learned that Jeffrey N. Powell and Hyunjin Kim were close friends,
went to Temple University together and served in a military capacity
with one another.
There is one
subject is still at large and detectives are working to identify
this fifth accomplice. For this reason, the information contained
in this release will constitute all that can be provided as not to
compromise this ongoing investigation.
As inferenced
above, and as of today, Hyunjin Kim has been relieved of his
position as a Trooper with the Delaware State Police. |
