Investigate Personal Injury Crash

Sunday, February17th, shortly after 4:00 a.m., Troop 3 patrol
officers responded to the area of Peachtree Road and Jeffrey Drive
for reports of a serious injury crash involving a single vehicle.
Upon arrival, Troopers learned a 2005
Chevrolet Cavalier, operated by Devron D. Powell, 27, of Dover was
traveling southbound on Peachtree Road, and for unknown reasons left
the roadway. A further investigation revealed that the Cavalier
struck a utility pole and continued into a ditch. The Cavalier
became airborne and struck a shed and mobile home (at #10 Jeffrey
Drive) prior to landing on its side in the grassy area and becoming
engulfed in flames.
White was ejected and treated at the
scene prior to being transported by ambulance, to Kent General
Hospital. White was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Drugs may have contributed to the crash.
A 27-year Magnolia man (occupant of
#10 Jeffrey Drive) sustained non-life threatening injuries from
debris falling into the mobile home and was transported to Kent
General Hospital where he was treated and released for non-life
threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
