Update- Subjects Arrested Stabbing at D & H Jamaican Cuisine

Newark- On Sunday, June 29th, at approximately 1:45 a.m.,
Troopers responded to D & H Jamaican Cuisine for the report of a
stabbing inside.
This investigation revealed a male victim was dancing with a
female when they had accidentally bumped into a subject- later
identified as Alexander Bennett, 27, of Georgetown Apartments in New
Castle. A fight ensued in which it had been alleged Bennett produced
a knife. It was also alleged that a friend of Bennett’s also
produced a knife. This second subject was identified as Rannord
Jones, 28, of Freedom Trail in New Castle.
Troopers learned that Bennett apparently stabbed one male victim
in the hand while Jones apparently stabbed another male victim in
the side. The victims were taken to Christiana Hospital by private
vehicle.
Yesterday, Rannord Jones turned himself in to authorities as
Troop 6. He was formally charged with Assault 2nd, Conspiracy 2nd
and Possession of a Deadly Weapon (all felonies). Bail was set at
$21,000.00 secured. This bail was posted and Jones was released.
Today, Alexander Bennett turned himself in to authorities as
Troop 6. He too was formally charged with Assault 2nd, Conspiracy
2nd and Possession of a Deadly Weapon (all felonies). Bail was set
at $16,000.00 secured. This bail was posted and Bennett was
released.
Note: The victims did not know the suspects.
