Update- Bail Issued Troopers Bust the Business Burglary Bandit in
the Bushes

North Wilmington- Earlier this afternoon, Troopers
provided a ride for Mr. Vardar to the Howard Young Correctional
Institute after failing to post a $30,000.00 secured bail.
Troopers Bust the Business Burglary Bandit in the Bushes
Released- Thursday, June 26, 2008
North Wilmington- At approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning,
Troopers were summonsed to the Marsh Road Diner- 407 Marsh Road- in
reference to a burglary in progress.
Officers arrived on the scene and contacted the business owner
who advised a male suspect had just tried gaining entry through a
business window, several times, and was currently hiding in a bush
nearby. Troopers located the bandit in the bushes and took him into
custody without incident.
This investigation revealed this business had been burglarized
several times within the past several weeks. On this night, the
business owner was sitting in his vehicle outside when he observed
this suspect- now identified as Tansu Vardar, 26, of Weldin Road-
approach the side of the business and attempt to gain entry via a
side window.
The suspect was transported back to Troop 1 where detectives
formally charged him with incidents which occurred on June 19th,
June 21st and June 26th. His charges are as follows: • Three counts
of Criminal Mischief (misdemeanor) • Two counts of Burglary 3rd
(felony) • Two counts of Theft (misdemeanor) • Attempted Burglary
(felony)
A routine computer check revealed Tansu Vardar is currently on
probation. Arraignment is pending sometime this morning. An
additional release will be provided after this court preceeding.
