Suspect Stabs Victim with Crack Pipe
Released- Thursday, June 26, 2008
Wilmington- On June 25th, at approximately 2:50 p.m.,
Troopers responded to the area of Steve’s Tavern, on Centerville
Road, in reference to an assault complaint. Officers arrived on the
scene and contacted a 23-year-old male victim.
This investigation revealed the victim was driving through the
city of Wilmington when he stopped at a red light. He advised the
suspect in this case, later identified as Bobbi Ramey, 36, of Haley
Court in Wilmington, approached his car and asked for a ride to the
Walmart on Centerville Road. The victim, who did not know Ramey,
agreed to provide the transportation and the two proceeded to this
destination.
The victim advised that as he approached the Walmart the suspect
produced a crack pipe and began to stab him multiple times in the
arm. The victim pulled off of the road just south of Steve’s Tavern
where he attempted to fend off the suspect. A witness heard the
commotion coming from the victim’s car and responded to assist. As
this witness opened the door, Ms. Ramey got out and fled toward
Steve’s Tavern.
A search of the area by Troopers led to the apprehension of Ramey
behind ‘Steve’s.’ She was holding a soda can upon her arrest; and
inside the can officers located the crack pipe used during the
assault. The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital where he
received twelve stitches.
Bobbi Ramey was cited with Assault 2nd (felony), Possession of
Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor) and Carrying a Concealed Deadly
Instrument. She was arraigned and committed to the Baylor Woman’s
Correctional Institute in lieu of $12,000.00 secured bail.
