Update #2... Timeline Established

Tractor Trailer Stolen from Food Bank- Loaded with Donated Chicken

Released- Monday, June 23, 2008

Newark- This investigation has revealed the following information has clarified several other points.

A review of surveillance video had provided this timeline.

At 9:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st, a two tone, dark Ford pick up truck was seen pulling onto the property of a business adjacent to the Food Bank on Dawson Drive. The truck was seen parking in the rear of the property at which time it turned its lights off. Several minutes later, the truck pulled away.

At 9:52 p.m., the first tractor trailer (both tractor and trailer belonging to the Food Bank) were seen exiting the business park on Dawson Drive. Immediately thereafter, another tractor trailer (the trailer only belonging to the Food Bank) was seen leaving the industrial park as well.

It was later learned that a tractor portion (rig) was stolen at this same time from the Chrome Deposit Corporation (#9 Tyler Way). This business is located directly behind the Food Bank. It is believed that this stolen rig was used to also steal the second trailer from the Food Bank. This stolen rig is described as a 2001 Freightliner, maroon in color, depicting "CDC" in white lettering on the doors.

To clarify, the Food Bank of Delaware had stolen: one tractor trailer combination and one trailer only. The Chrome Deposit Corporation had stolen: a tractor (rig) only.

This case is still in its infancy. There is no surveillance video to disseminate to the media at this time.

Anyone with information pertaining to this case should call Troop 6 at 302.633.5000 ext. 0 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.TIP.3333.
