Released- Wednesday, June 11, 2008
Wilmington- On Tuesday, June 10th, 10:00 a.m., a Troop 6
patrol officer was traveling on Lancaster Avenue, west of Route 100,
when he observed a 2003 Honda motorcycle ahead of him. The officer
was unable to see the registration plate. A traffic stop ensued and
the bike pulled over in the parking lot of Feby’s Fishery.
The Trooper walked up behind the motorcycle, which was occupied
by two people, and looked at the folded temporary registration tag.
The tag was to have expired in April of 2008 and was supposed to be
displayed on a Volkswagon. Aware that ‘VW’ had not yet entered the
motorcycle market here in the U.S., the Trooper asked for the
paperwork on the bike and the identification of the occupants.
The driver was identified as Jahmell Robinson, 26, of Delamore
Place in Wilmington. The passenger was identified as Samantha
Anderson, 20, also of Delamore Place.
A routine computer check revealed the motorbike was stolen from
the Dover area in February of 2007. This check also revealed the
operator of the bike was a suspended driver. Both subjects were
taken into custody for Receiving Stolen Property. The passenger, Ms.
Anderson, was found to have been in possession of marijuana.
Both subjects were formally charged with Receiving Stolen
Property (felony) and Conspiracy 2nd (felony). Robinson was charged
additionally with the following traffic offenses: Displaying a
Fictitious Registration Plate, No Motorcycle License and Driving
While Revoked. Anderson was additionally charged with Possession of
Marijuana (misdemeanor).
