County- On, Wednesday,
June 4th, 2008, Troopers responded to the Rite Aid, located at 4609
Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE, in reference to a shoplifting
complaint.
Upon arrival officers contacted
store employees who advised that shortly before 11:00 p.m., three
suspects entered the Rite Aid and concealed approximately $277.00 in
merchandise and left the store without paying. The store employees
obtained a vehicle description, including the tag number, and this
information was broadcast to patrol officers.
The vehicle was pulled over just 2
miles east of the Rite Aid. All of the merchandise was recovered and
the defendants were placed into custody and transported to Troop 6.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified as follows:

Edwena Daniels,
28, of Murphy Road in Wilmington. (released on $1,000.00
unsecured bond)

Wynee Letitia Young,
43, of Carvel Street in New Castle. (Committed to the Baylor
Woman’s Correctional Institute in lieu of $1,000.00 secured
bond)

Turhan Redden,
39, of East 9th Street in Wilmington. (Committed to
the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $1,000.00
secured bond)

Joe Redden,
43, of East 9th Street in Wilmington. (Committed to
the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $1,000.00
secured bond)
This investigation revealed Ms.
Young was driving the vehicle while Daniels and the Redden brothers
entered the store and removed merchandise. The defendants were all
charged with Shoplifting and Conspiracy.
Routine computer checks revealed
Joseph and Turhan Redden had been involved in nine different
shoplifting incidents, and arrested for same, over the past seven
months. In Seven of these cases, the brothers conspired together to
commit the crimes. Aside from Letitia Young and Edwena Daniels, the
Reddens have also committed two of their shopliftings with
Marquis Robinson, 40, of Clifford Brown Walk in Wilmington.
Robinson is currently wanted by the New Castle County Court of
Common Pleas.
