Publics’ Help in Identifying Fraud Suspect

Released- Friday, May 30, 2008

Newark- On Thursday, May 29th, at approximately 12:57 p.m., Troopers were called to the PNC Bank located at 4643 Stanton Ogletown Road (Omega Shopping Center) in reference to a fraud investigation.

This investigation revealed a female suspect entered the bank and approached a teller.  This subject attempted to withdraw $4,400.00 from a victim’s account by presenting the teller with a New Jersey driver’s license depicting the victim’s information on it.  The bank teller became suspicious when she noticed the number on the license did not match that shown in the PNC file.

The suspect apparently was spooked when the transaction was taking too long so she left.  Upon exiting the bank, the suspect got into a newer model luxury car, bluish grey in color, and fled eastbound on Route 4.

The suspect is described as a black female, 35-45 years old, average build, black hair pulled back into a pony-tail who was also professionally dressed.

Surveillance cameras at the bank captured multiple pictures of the suspect. Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to call investigators at 302-633-5000 ext. 742 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
