SelbyvilleReleased- Sunday, May 25, 2008
Selbyville- On Saturday, May 24, 2008, at approximately 10:00
a.m., Troopers were called to Walnut Court in the Hickory Trail
Apartments in Selbyville in reference to a domestic incident.
In this case officers learned that a 29-year-old female was
confronted by her boyfriend, Burt Foskey, 29, of Selbyville, at
approximately 3:00 a.m. The two began to argue as Foskey was
allegedly intoxicated. He was told to leave the residence, but he
refused. The female then tried to leave the residence, however,
Foskey refused to let her go. The incident continued for several
more hours and Foskey damaged several items in the residence.
The female was finally able to get out of the home and make her
way to her vehicle at approximately 10:00 a.m. Foskey followed her
outside and broke out her car window. He also cut the seat belt to
the car. Foskey allegedly then began to physically assault the
female, punching her in the stomach- even though she was pregnant.
He also grabbed her around the neck. Foskey, at one point, fell to
the ground which allowed the victim to get to her car and flee to
call the police.
Troopers arrived on the scene and took Foskey into custody. He
was transported back to Troop 4 for processing. Foskey was formally
charged with Assault 2nd (felony), Unlawful Imprisonment
(misdemeanor), Reckless Endangering 2nd (felony), two counts of
Criminal Mischief (misdemeanor) and Disorderly Conduct
(misdemeanor). He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex
Correctional Institute in lieu of $17,355.00 secured bail.
