Three Vehicle Crash Clogs Interstate Released- Wednesday, May 21, 2008 Newark- On Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at approximately 7:36 a.m., Troopers responded to I-95 southbound at Churchmans Marsh for the report of a three vehicle crash. A 2008 DART bus (operated by Edward Dean, 54, of Middletown) was stopped in traffic. A 2006 Toyota Prius (operated by William Hyland, 59, of Wilmington) was slowing down behind the DART bus. A 1996 Hy-Point Farms refrigerated truck (operated by Leonard Hartnett, 53, of Wilmington) was approaching the Prius from behind and rear-ended same after not stopping in time. This initial impact forced the Prius into the rear of the DART bus. Mr. Hartnett was cited for Inattentive Driving. No injuries were reported. The DART bus was occupied by twelve people. Traffic was impacted for approximately one hour while this crash was investigated.
