State Police Continue Fight Against Graffiti with Four New
Arrests
Released- Wednesday, May 07, 2008
Newark- On Monday night, May 5th, Troopers responded to
the area of Harmony Road and Ruthar Drive for the report of subjects
spray-painting the railroad overpass.
Officers arrived on the scene and observed four subjects in the
act of defacing the aforementioned structure. As the Troopers
approached the suspects, they all ran away on foot. The defendants
apparently were aware that the police were catching up to them so
abandoned the ‘running idea’ and made a feeble attempt to hide by
concealing themselves in some bushes. They were caught. The suspects
were found to have been in possession of twelve (12) cans of spray
paint.
The subjects were all identified as male juveniles- ages 15, 16,
16, 17- residing at various addresses on University Avenue in New
Castle. They were each charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd
(misdemeanor), Graffiti (misdemeanor), Conspiracy 3rd (misdemeanor),
Possession of Graffiti Tools (misdemeanor) and Resisting Arrest
(misdemeanor).
The subjects were all arraigned and turned back over to their
parents’ custody.
