Update #4 Serious Injury Crash on Route 52 now a Confirmed Double Fatality

Greenville- The occupants of the PT Cruiser who died in yesterday’s fatal crash have been identified as: Bettyann Disabatino, 79, of Florida, and Phyllis Dinardo, 71, of Sweetbriar Road in Wilmington.

No charges have been filed and this crash remains under investigation.

 

 

Update #3 Serious Injury Crash on Route 52 now a Confirmed Double Fatality

Greenville- This investigation revealed a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser was stopped for a red light on westbound Kirk Road at the intersection with Rt. 52. A 1996 Dodge pick-up (operated by Keith Sharpley, 19, of Willow Grove Mill in Middletown) was traveling northbound on Rt. 52 and was approaching the intersection with Kirk Road. The traffic light changed to red for for the pick-upand to green for the Chrysler. The Chrysler proceeded forward. Mr. Sharpley looked up, observed the red light and applied his brakes; however, he continued into the intersection. The front end of the Dodge struck the driver’s side of the PT Cruiser. Both vehicles remained locked together.

This crash remains under investigation. The idendities of the driver and passenger (both females... ages 71 and 79) of the Chrysler will released tomorrow afternoon as family living out of state has to be notified.

Update #2 Serious Injury Crash on Route 52 now a Confirmed Double Fatality

Greenville- The Delaware State Police is currently on the scene of a double fatal crash on Route 52 (Kennett Pike) at Cambell Road. This incident was reported at 10:49 a.m. on today’s date and involved two vehicles.

Two elderly females died as a result of their injuries. One subject died at the scene and the second died at the Christiana Hospital. They were both occupants of the same Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Traffic is still affected; however, because of a low volume of motorists this impact is limited.

An additional release will be forthcoming when details of this crash are known and confirmed.
