Late Night
Shooting Outside Seasons Pizza
Released-
Monday, April 28, 2008
New Castle-
On April 27th,
at approximately 10:39 p.m., Troopers were called to the Seasons
Pizza, 903 North DuPont Highway, in reference to a shots fired
complaint.
This
investigation revealed two employees (a male and female subject)
engaged in a verbal dispute while inside Seasons. This argument
became heated but was diffused when the male subject left the store
to make a pizza delivery.
The male
employee returned from the delivery and pulled up in the parking lot
of the restaurant. He exited his car and was confronted by a male
subject- later identified as Alex Ellerbe, 24, of Aukland
Drive in Newark.
Ellerbe accused
the victim of pulling a knife on the female employee. The victim
denied pulling a knife on the female and he quickly made his way
back to his car. Ellerbe allegedly brandished a handgun and the
victim started to speed away with the door to his Honda hanging
ajar. Ellerbe fired three to four shots, flattening the victim’s
tires. The victim was not hit.
Ellerbe got into
his 1995 Plymouth Voyager and fled the scene. The victim responded
to a local motel parking lot where he called 911.
At approximately
9:30 a.m. this morning, April 28th, Ellerbe turned
himself in to authorities at Troop 2. He has been formally charged
with Reckless Endangering 1st (felony) and Possession of
a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (felony). Bail
information is not available at this time.
