Bumper Cars on Route 13
Released- Wednesday, April 16, 2008
New Castle- Troopers from the Delaware
State Police are investigating a seven car Hit and Run crash which
occurred this morning at 7:53 a.m.
A 2004 Dodge Durango (unknown operator) was
traveling northbound on Route 13 in the left lane when it rear-ended
a stopped 1992 Chevrolet Lumina (operated by Richard Cascarina, 22,
of New Castle) at Route 141. The Dodge then veered to the right and
struck a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo (operated by Joshua Long, 24, of
Hartley). The Durango went back to the left and sideswiped a 2007
Toyota Scion (operated by Johnny McClain, 25, of Newark). The Dodge
went back to the right where it rear-ended a 2007 Saturn Ion (Kristian
Schorah, 40, of New Castle). The Ion was pushed into the rear of a
2006 Mazda 3 (operated by Tina Cesarone, 32, of Bear). The Dodge
continued forward, making its way through the wreckage where it
rear-ended a 2007 Jeep Commander (operated by James Gordon, 31, of
Bear). The Dodge then fled the scene, northbound on Route 13.
Apparently the Dodge was not finished as it was
involved in yet another collision when it struck the rear of a 2004
Freightliner (operated by Luther Fleming, 30, of Chestertown, MD).
The Dodge again fled the scene and was last seen on Route 13
northbound toward Wilmington.
Authorities are seeking the Dodge Durango and
its operator. The Durango is described as grey in color bearing
Delaware registration 27353. It was operated by a black male in his
30’s.
