Boulevard Resident Experiences the “Three D’s”… Drugs, Drunk and
Detention

On Friday, April 11th,
at approximately 12:54 a.m., Troopers were called to the area of
Rodgers Road and New Castle Avenue in reference to a subject passed
out behind the wheel.
Troopers
arrived on the scene and found a 2003 Ford Explorer, in the
intersection, running with the operator passed and unresponsive.
Officers were not sure if this operator was having a medical
emergency. When they got the door open, the smells of marijuana and
alcohol, painted a different picture as to what they were dealing
with.
Officers
identified the operator as Edward J. Hightower, 34, of New
Castle. He was found to have been in possession of marijuana,
$805.00 in suspected drug money and drug paraphernalia. Also,
officers found him to have been impaired by alcohol.
Mr. Hightower
was transported back to Troop 2 for processing. Here he was formally
charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana
(felony), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping Marijuana (felony),
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor) and D.U.I.
