Saturday, March 22, 2008
Dover-
Troop 3 patrol officers
responded to Leipsic Road south of Lewes Street on Friday, March 21,
2008, at approximately 3:00 p.m., in reference to a two vehicle
injury crash.
A 2002
Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Steven Cain, 19, of Dover, was
traveling eastbound on Leipsic Road approaching the rear of a 1995
Chevrolet Camaro- which was slowing to turn right into a private
driveway.
The Malibu
began passed the Camaro on the left and lost control at which point
it traveled off of the east edge of the roadway and struck a utility
pole. The Camaro, which was operated by David Sadler, 43, of Dover,
then struck the Malibu.
Sadler was not
injured. Cain, and his female passenger, were both trapped and had
to be extricated by mechanical means. Trooper 4 and Trooper 2 both
transported the occupants of the Malibu to Christiana Hospital where
they were treated for serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
Steven Cain was
cited for Careless Driving and Failure to have Insurance
Identification. |
