Georgetown Resident Charged with Molesting Granddaughters

Georgetown- Detectives from Troop 4 have concluded an investigation into the continuous sexual abuse of twin 13-year-old girls by their grandfather- Shaka Mumitt, 54, of Ingramtown Road in Georgetown.

The alleged abuse began in August of 2007 and continued through February 29th of 2008. Yesterday afternoon, investigators arrested Mumitt on 80 charges consisting of Rape 1st (felony), Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child (felony), Assault 3rd (misdemeanor) and Unlawful Sexual Contact (felony).  Mumitt was arraigned, issued a No Contact Order and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $250,000 cash bail.
