Georgetown Resident Charged with Molesting Granddaughters

Georgetown- Detectives from Troop 4 have concluded an investigation into the continuous sexual abuse of twin 13-year-old girls by their grandfather- Shaka Mumitt, 54, of Ingramtown Road in Georgetown.

The alleged abuse began in August of 2007 and continued through February 29^th of 2008. Yesterday afternoon, investigators arrested Mumitt on 80 charges consisting of Rape 1^st (felony), Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child (felony), Assault 3^rd (misdemeanor) and Unlawful Sexual Contact (felony).  Mumitt was arraigned, issued a No Contact Order and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $250,000 cash bail.
