DSP News Release: Friday, October 16th, 2009 - Driver and Passenger Mechanically Extricated in Millsboro Crash

 

Location: Gravel Hill Road, Millsboro

 

Date of Occurrence: Friday, October 16th, 2009 at approximately 3:08 pm

 

Suspect(s): N/A

 

Resume: On Friday, October 16th, 2009, shortly after 3pm, Delaware State Police responded to Gravel Hill Road for an injury crash involving two vehicles.  The roadway was closed for approximately one and a half hours.

 

The investigation revealed that a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina, operated by Mr. Michael Arcidicono, 26, of Millsboro, was traveling northound on Gravel Hill Road and lost control of his vehicle as he was approaching a curve.  The Lumina slid counterclockwise across the center line.  A 1994 Ford pick-up, operated by Mr. Craig Edick, 52, of Dagsboro, was traveling southbound on Gravel Hill Road.  The front of Mr. Edick's pick-up truck struck the passenger side of the Lumina. 

 

Mr. Arcidicono and his passenger were wearing seatbelts and had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel.  Both individuals were transported to Beebe Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.  Mr. Edick was also wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. 

 

Mr. Arcidicono was cited for Unsafe Speed for Conditions and Failure to have Valid Proof of Insurance.
