DSP News Release: DSP On-Scene Three Vehicle Injury Crash

 

Location: SR 9 and SR 5 (Lewes Georgetown Highway & Harbeson Road)

 

Date of Occurrence: Monday, November 2nd, 2009 at approximately 12:50 pm

On Tuesday, November 2nd, 2009, at approximately 12:50 pm, Delaware State Police responded to Seashore Highway and Harbeson Road, in the intersection, for an injury crash.

 

The investigation revealed that a 1997 Lincoln Town Car, operated by Mr. Daniel Zacharias, 59, of Harbeson was traveling southbound on Harbeson Road when he failed to stop for the red light.  As a result, the Lincoln traveled through the intersection striking a 2010 Toyota Camry, operated by Ms. Manezal Greer, 54, of Lewes.  The Camry was traveling westbound.  Upon impact, the Camry rotated clockwise and was struck by a 1998 Mercury Mystique, operated by Ms. Jayne Smith, 80, of Lewes, which was traveling eastbound.

 

All parties were wearing seatbelts and were transported to Beebe Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

 

The investigation is on-going and charges are pending at the present time.  The roadway was partially blocked for approximately two hours.
