Serious Injury Crash Sends Several to Area Hospital
Released-Sunday, May 31, 2009
Lewes-Shortly before 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, Troop 7 patrol troopers responded to Route 24 at Holly Mount Road for reports of a serious crash.
Details of this crash are sketchy, however, the initial investigation revealed that David Cooper, 30 of Millsboro was operating a 1993 Plymouth Mini-van at the time of the crash. Mr. Cooper was not injured, however, his front seat passenger, Christine Fox, 34, of Millsboro was airlifted to Christiana Emergency Room after being ejected from the vehicle. Mrs. Fox’s injuries have not been confirmed. Mr. Cooper’s rear passenger, William Spence, 16, of Millsboro, was transported by ambulance to Beebe Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Nicholas J. Manchor, 53, of Millsboro was operating a 2003 Ford Taurus at the time of the crash. Mr. Manchor was transported by ambulance to Beebe Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Manchor’s front seat passenger, Carol Manchor was air lifted to Christiana Emergency Room with non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Manchor’s rear passenger, James Powell, 28, of Vorhees, NJ was transported by ambulance to Christiana Emergency Room with non-life threatening injuries. Another rear seat passenger in Mr. Manchor’s vehicle was uninjured.
G. Gardner Grove, 52, of Lewes was operating a 1992 GMC van. Mr. Grove was alone in his vehicle and he was uninjured.
Alcohol is suspected on the part of Mr. Cooper.
