DSP News Release: Thursday, May 21, 2009- Subject Pushes Trooper in Assault Investigation… Father Hinders Arrest
Location of Incident: 300 block of Pebble Road in Rehoboth, Delaware, Sussex County
Date and Time of Occurrence: Thursday, May 21, 2009, at approximately 2:11 a.m.
Suspect(s):
Resume: Just after 2:00 a.m. this morning, Troopers were called to the 300 block of Pebble Road in Rehoboth Beach in reference to an assault investigation.
When officers arrived on the scene, they contacted the alleged victim, Chad Tylecki. Chad appeared intoxicated and was belligerent with Troopers. He continually raised his arms at officers and became aggressive. He then pushed one of the Troopers who in turn attempted to arrest him. Chad refused to go quietly and resisted arrest.
Chad’s father, Gregory Tylecki, who was already at the Pebble Road address, began to pull his son away from officers, hindering the officers’ attempt at an arrest. Finally, Chad and his father were arrested. They were both transported back to Troop 7 for processing.
Chad was formally charged with Resisting Arrest, Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer and Disorderly Conduct. He was ordered held at the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $2,250.00 secured bail.
Gregory was charged with Hindering Prosecution. He was released on a $500.00 unsecured bail.
