Personal Injury Crash Sends Two to Milford Memorial
Released-Saturday, June 20, 2009
Millsboro-Shortly before 9:00 a.m. this morning, Troop 4 Troopers responded to the area of US 113 north of Governor Stockley Road for the report of a personal injury crash.
An investigation revealed that a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, operated by Stacey M. Hurley, 27, of Harrington was traveling northbound on US 113 south of Governor Stockley Road in the right lane. A 1995 Jeep Cherokee, operated by Marcealeate S. Ruffin, 59, of Selbyville was stopped on the right shoulder of US 113 north of Governor Stockley Road. Mrs. Ruffin traveled from the right shoulder into the right lane of northbound US 113 causing the right front of the Chrysler Sebring to collide with the left rear of the Jeep Cherokee.
Both operators were seatbelted at the time fot he crash. They were later transported from the scene by ambulance to Milford Memorial Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
Mrs. Ruffin was cited for failure to yield right of way when entering the roadway.
US 113 was shut down for approximately one hour while the crash was investigated.
The roadway has since been reopened.
