Frankford Man Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash

Released Sunday, April 12, 2009

Frankford – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a serious crash that has left a motorcyclist with life threatening injuries at Christiana Hospital.

Troopers responded to the car versus motorcycle crash today at 4:22 pm on Powell Farm Road just south of State Route 26 near Frankford.  Investigators discovered a 1995 Ford Bronco, operated by Maranda R. Ingram, 32 of Ocean View, was traveling northbound on Powell Farm Rd entering a moderate curve in the roadway.

A 1996 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, operated by Aaron S. Hall, 44 of Frankford, was traveling southbound on the road entering the same curve.  For an unknown reason the motorcycle crossed over the center line striking the Ford Bronco head on.  As a result of the crash, Mr. Hall was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained life threatening injuries.  He was flown by DSP helicopter to Christiana hospital.  He was not wearing a helmet.

Ms. Ingram was taken to Atlantic General Hospital by ambulance where she was treated and released for minor injuries.  Seatbelt use is unknown at this time.  Alcohol was not a factor and because of the crash the roadway was closed for 3 hours.  It has been reopened.

No charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
