Final Release - Three Vehicle Crash Snarls Southbound USRT 113 Traffic

Released - Friday, April 17th, 2009

Georgetown - On Friday, April 17th, 2009, just before 7:30 am, Delaware State Troopers responded to the southbound lanes of US RT 113 at Governor Stockley Road for a physical injury crash.

The investigation revealed that a 2008 Ford Mustang, operated by Mr. Shawn Holloway, 40, of Millsboro, was traveling westbound on Governor Stockley Road.  Mr. Holloway came to a stop at the stop sign and was preparing to cross the southbound lanes.

A 2001 Kia Optima, operated by Gionvanni Ramos, 28, of Salisbury, was traveling in the right lane of southbound US RT 113.

A 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, operated by Angela Kinsler, 34, of Georgetown, was traveling in the left lane to the rear of the Kia.

The Ford Mustang entered the southbound lanes and was struck by the Kia and Silhouette.  Upon impact the Mustang spun across the lanes and was struck by a Jeep Cherokee also traveling southbound.  The Jeep Cherokee operated by Michael Moore, 58, of Millsboro, was attempting to avoid the initial collision.  Upon impacting with the Mustang, the Jeep overturned.

Mr. Holloway was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Beebe Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.  The investigation determined that Mr. Holloway failed to yield the right of way to on-coming traffic and was cited for the crash.

Ms. Kinsler was wearing her seatbelt and was transported to Nanticoke Hospital, where she was admitted for non-life threatening injuries.

Mr. Ramos was also wearing his seatbelt and declined medical treatment.

Mr. Moore was transported by the Delaware State Police helicopter to Peninsula Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Moore was wearing his seatbelt and was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately one-hour.  Alcohol is not a factor in this crash.
