Surrenders to Police
Released-Sunday-May 18, 2008
Frankford-Earlier today, at
approximately 12:00 p.m., Delaware State Police criminal
investigators arrested Lamaris F. Wescott
after he turned himself in at Troop 4. He was formally
charged with Attempted Manslaughter, Possession of a Firearm
during the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a
Firearm by a person prohibited, all felonies.
Wescott was arraigned at the Justice of the
Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional
Institution in lieu of $55,000.00 cash bail. The victim in
this case is currently listed in critical condition at PRMC.

State Police Probe Shooting Incident near
Frankford-Suspect Identified

Frankford-The
Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting
incident which occurred Saturday evening on Shockley Town
Road near Frankford.
Detectives have identified the shooter and
obtained an arrest warrant charging him with several felony
offenses including Attempted Manslaughter, Possession of a
Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of
a Firearm by a person prohibited.
Last night
at approximately 10:30 p.m., Delaware State Troopers were
dispatched to a residence located along the 34000 block of
Shockley Town Road to investigate a reported shooting
incident.
Upon
arrival, investigators learned, a 22-year-old Dagsboro man
had been shot during a confrontation there. Further
investigation revealed the home owner was celebrating a
birthday party and had a huge crowd at her residence.
During the
event, a quarrel occurred between several subjects resulting
in shots being fired by Lamaris F. Wescott, 20, of
the 28000 block of Gum Tree Road, Frankford. Wescott fled
the scene and has not been located. He is described as a
black male, 5'08" tall, 155 lbs, brown eyes, and black
hair. Wescott may be in the Frankford or Dagsboro area.
The victim
was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center,
treated and admitted for injuries sustained from a gun shot
wound to the upper chest. The victim is listed in critical
condition.
Law
