Investigate Morning Crash on Coastal Hwy at Bay Vista Road

Rehoboth Beach-Earlier
today, state troopers from Troop 7 investigated a vehicle crash that
sent several children the hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.
The incident
occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene,
troopers learned a 2006 Land Rover SUV operated by Robin Karman,
53, of Rehoboth was stopped on southbound Coastal Hwy at Bay Vista
Road.
A 2007
Chevrolet Equinox operated by April Tyler, 35, of Rehoboth
was traveling southbound and struck the rear of the Land Rover.
Robin Karman
was wearing a seatbelt and not injured. April Tyler was wearing a
seatbelt. She was transported to Christiana Hospital, treated and
released for non-life threatening injuries.
It’s unknown if
Tyler’s three passengers (her children) were wearing seatbelts.
Julius A. Tyler, age 11 and Justin A. Tyler age 16 both
of Rehoboth were transported to Beebe Medical Center, treated and
released for non-life threatening injuries. A third passenger,
six-year-old Jasa A. Tyler, was flown to A.I. DuPont, treated
and admitted for non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol was not
a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation. The
left lane of Coastal Highway was closed for approximately one hour
while troopers examined the scene. |
