Troopers Make
Drug Arrest

Ellendale-On
Thursday May 1, 2008, the Sussex Drug Unit and Sussex Governor’s
Task Force (GTF), conducted a joint investigation into the
distribution of cocaine from a residence along the 200 block of
Crooked Road, near Lincoln.
During the
investigation, troopers observed a vehicle described as a black Ford
Explorer leaving the dwelling at approximately 8:55 p.m. The vehicle
was followed and stopped along S. Old State Road near Ellendale
after detectives observed traffic offenses.
The operator of
the vehicle was identified as Leonardo B. Street, 35, of
Laurel, Delaware. Street was found to have .1 gram of cocaine on his
person. A search of his vehicle resulted in the seizure of 30.3
grams of cocaine, 15 grams of marijuana, and twelve Ecstasy pills,
.4 grams of crack cocaine, digital scale, and $8,820 in cash.
As a result of
this investigation, Mr. Street was formally charged with the
following criminal offenses: Trafficking Cocaine (F), Possession
With Intent To Distribute (PWITD) Cocaine (F), PWITD Marijuana (F),
PWITD a Controlled Substance (F), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping
a Controlled Substance (F), three counts of Possession of Narcotics
Within 1000’ of a School (F), and two counts of Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia (M). Street was also charged with several traffic
offenses including Driving While Suspended.
Street was
arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in
lieu of $122,500.00 secured bond. |
