Troopers
Charge Philadelphia Trio with Trafficking Heroin
Harrington-On
Tuesday, April 29, 2008, members of Kent County Governor’s Task
Force (GTF) arrested three individuals for trafficking heroin and
other drug related charges after their vehicle was stopped for a
registration violation along US 13 near Harrington.
The incident
occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. when officers observed a 2000
Buick Park Ave bearing a Pennsylvania registration plate traveling
southbound below the posted speed limit.
Officers
conducted a computer inquiry on the vehicle’s registration and no
record was found for the plate displayed on the vehicle. Officers
stopped the vehicle and contacted the operator Acy C. Wynn IV,
19, of Philadelphia. Wynn had two passengers with him, Lashekaha
Guy, 18, of Philadelphia was the front seat passenger and
Khayree Gay, 24, also of Philadelphia was the rear seat
passenger.
The occupants
advised they were traveling from Philadelphia to Virginia.
Computer checks of the occupants revealed Gay had active
warrants from the Philadelphia Police Department for assault. He was
taken into custody.
During a search
of the vehicle 18 grams of heroin packaged for resale and 6.2 grams
of marijuana was located. Additionally, $919.00 cash was located in
the vehicle. The cash and vehicle were seized by police.
As a result of
the investigation Wynn, Guy, and Gay, were all arrested for the
following criminal offenses: Trafficking Heroin (F), Possession With
Intent to Distribute Heroin (F), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping a
Controlled Substance (F), Conspiracy 2nd Degree (F),
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M), and Possession of Marijuana.
Wynn
was also charged with traffic offenses. He was arraigned and
committed to the Delaware Correctional Center (DCC) in lieu of
$56,300.00 secured bond.
Gay
was arraigned and committed to DCC in lieu of $56,000.00 secured
bond.
Guy
was arraigned and committed to the Women’s Correctional Institution
in lieu of $56,000.00 secured bond.
