State Police Seek Publics’ Help Identifying Armed Robber

Released-Monday, April 28, 2008

Felton-Delaware State Police criminal investigators are currently investigating a robbery that occurred last night at the Canterbury Shore Stop in Felton.

On Sunday, troopers were dispatched to the convenience store located at 8953 S. DuPont Hwy. to investigate a reported robbery.  Upon arrival investigators learned the incident took place at approximately 10:29 p.m.

According to the clerk, the suspect entered the establishment, removed a Gatorade from the beverage cooler and approached the counter.  Once at the counter, the suspect asked the clerk for a pack of Newport cigarettes at which time the clerk asked the suspect for identification.

At this time the suspect pulled a black handgun from his pants and told the clerk he didn't have ID and to give him all the money. The clerk complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.  After taking the money the suspect walked out of the store.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 18 to 30 years of age with an average build. He was last seen wearing a red and white baseball cap, green hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with white strips on the pockets.

Anyone with information pertaining to the aforementioned case or the identity of the suspect should call Troop 3 (302) 697-4456 ext 305 or Crime Stoppers 1-(800) TIP-3333.
