Dover Teens Charged
in Capitol Park Shooting Incident

Dover-Yesterday,
State Police Detectives charged two local teens with felony assault
and weapons charges stemming from a shooting incident that occurred
last week in Capitol Park.
During the
investigation detectives received anonymous tips and witness
statements identifying Christopher Reeves, 18, of Dover and
his 16-year-old brother Deshawn Reeves as the suspected
shooters.
Christopher Reeves
was arrested yesterday and charged with the following felony
criminal offenses: Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of
a Felony, Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of a Weapon by a
Person Prohibited, and Conspiracy 2nd Degree.
Christopher Reeves was arraigned and committed to the Delaware
Correctional Center in lieu of $19,000.00 secured bond.
Deshawn Reeves was
also arrested yesterday and charged with the following felony
criminal offenses: two counts of Possession of a Firearm during the
Commission of a Felony, two counts of Possession of a Weapon by a
Person Prohibited, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Reckless
Endangering 1st Degree, and Conspiracy 2nd
Degree. Deshawn Reeves was arraigned and committed to the Stevenson
House Detention Center in lieu of $35,000.00 secured bond. (No

State Police
Detectives would like to thank the members of the media and the
Capitol Park Community for providing tips and witness statements in
this case. The weapons used in the shooting have yet to be
recovered.

Afternoon Shooting Incident

Dover-On
today's date, at 3:10 p.m. state troopers were dispatched to the 100
block of President’s Drive in Capitol Park to investigate a reported
shooting incident.
Upon arrival
investigators contacted and interviewed a 19-year-old Dover man who
had been shot at. The victim told police he was involved in a verbal
dispute with a black male suspect known only as Shawn.
During the course
of the argument, the suspect allegedly obtained a 9mm semi
-automatic handgun from a residence located along President’s
Drive. The victim was later confronted by the suspect and the
suspect’s brother (only known as “Boota”) and a third unidentified
black male suspect.
At this time, the
suspect and victim engaged in another verbal altercation and the
suspect fired one round at the victim which missed him. The
suspects were seen fleeing the area on foot towards a residence
located along the 100 block of President's Drive.
The Dover and
Capitol Police Departments assisted Delaware State Police with
setting up a perimeter around that residence. The home was later
search after the homeowner gave consent. The suspected shooter and
the two remaining suspects were not located.
The investigation
is ongoing. Detectives urge anyone with information pertaining to
