Shot During Home Invasion Robbery

State Police detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit
at Troop 3 are currently investigating a shooting incident that
occurred early this morning.
At
approximately 2:45 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence
located along the 100 block of Terry Drive, Magnolia, DE,
(Meadowbrook Acres) to investigate a reported home invasion robbery.
Upon arrival,
investigators contacted a 62-year-old woman and her 32-year-old
son. According to the victims, four black male suspects armed with
three handguns and a shotgun kicked in the front door of their
residence. Once inside they accosted the victims.
The suspects
demanded money and threatened to shoot the victims. During the
robbery the male victim attempted to fight the suspects off by
wrestling with one or more of the suspects. During the struggle in
his bedroom a shotgun was fired going through the left arm of the
victim.
The struggle
continued and the victim and his mother fled the trailer to a
residence next door. While exiting the residence the suspects fired
two handgun rounds at the victims. One of the rounds struck the
male victim in the upper thigh, the second missed him. The female
victim was not struck.
The suspects
were described as four unknown black males wearing "hoodies" and
disguises which concealed their identity from the victims. Nothing
was taken during the robbery.
The suspects
fled out the front door on Terry Drive towards Millchop Lane.
The male victim
was taken to KGH and later to Christiana Hospital. The victim’s
injuries are non-life threatening.
